Becoming bilingual is crucial to having a successful marriage.  Each of you has a unique way of communicating and learning to communicate so that your spouse really understands you makes marriage enjoyable and successful.

Just as if you were going to be good friends with someone who spoke Chinese, you would then learn to speak Chinese so that you could talk with your friend and you would learn Chinese customs and habits that would honor your friend.  So too, learning your spouse’s communication style and language honors and enhances the friendship and enjoyment between the two of you. 

Although it is hard work and a bit clumsy at times, it is also very rewarding when you are successful in speaking “Chinese” to your spouse. Have FUN!
